DYSTOPIA IN MODERN LITERATURE. S.COLLINS «THE HUNGER GAMES», V. ROTH «DIVERGENT»
Abstract
The article deals with the modern literature and the ways dystopia is resented in it. The authors analyzes two popular novels «The Hunger Games» by S.Collins and «Divergent» by V.Roth. It is spoken in detail about different realities described in these books. «The Hunger Games» takes place in an unspecified future time in a dystopian post-apocalyptic nation of Panem, in the ruins of North America. This book became the most tweeted on the planet. The second analyzed book in the research is «Divergent». The dystopia here appears in a futuristic Chicago. The great attention should be made to different fractions society is divided on : Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, Erudite; the remaining population are the Fractionless, who have no status or privilege in this society.
The research is worth reading and as it was said in it «…dystopia may change the minds of people and destroy or renew the world…»
