Theme: “Pastime. Free Time”

Objectives:

  • to summarize the knowledge of the topic;

  • to revise grammar material;

  • to develop pupils’ ability to work in groups and pairs;

  • to develop listening skills;

  • to develop pupilsattention.

Procedure

  1. Greeting

Teacher : Good morning, pupils! I’m glad to see you!

Pupils: Good morning, teachers! We are glad to see you, too!

Teacher : Today we are going to have a very special lesson. It will be a quiz. You have to answer as many questions as you can. For every correct answer you’ll get a point. At the end of the lesson we’ll count your points and choose the winner.

  1. Warming – up

Teacher : Before the quiz, let’s warm up.

Different people have different temper. On different parts of the day everybody has different mood. Let’s see, how you are now. Take your “faces” and if you feel well, great – draw a smile; if you feel neither well nor bad, draw a face without a smile; and if you are sad and unhappy, draw a sad face.

Now show me your faces. Well, I see that everybody is happy so we can start our lesson.(or: Some of you are not happy, but I am sure your mood will change to the end of the lesson)

  1. Speaking

  1. Teacher : We have got four groups: red , yellow , green and blue . Members of each group ask and answer the questions.

Task 1. You spend lots of time with your friends.

D: I am going to the party, too. But I can’t find my invitation. What kind of party is it?

K: It’s a balloon party. We don’t need to prepare any costumes for it.

D: What place is the party at?

K: It’s at Sam’s place.

D: When is the party?

K: It’s on Friday, the 10th of December.

D: What time does the party start?

K: At 5 o’clock in the evening.

T: You’ll listen to a short story and your task is to draw what’s the story about. Teams get paper and colored pencils

There is a big house in the middle of the picture. The house is yellow with red roof. There are two windows in the house and one door. To the left of the house there is a green tree. To the right of the house there are two flowers. One flower is red, the second flower is blue. Under the tree there is a black dog, on the tree there is a fat cat.
