Abstract
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into language learning environments presents significant opportunities for enhancing learner autonomy, personalized instruction, and real-time feedback mechanisms. However, along with these positive potentials come substantial challenges, including issues of data privacy, algorithmic transparency, diminished human interaction, and infrastructural inequality. This paper explores how AI-driven tools can support second-language acquisition by facilitating adaptive learning paths, enhancing pronunciation and speaking skills through speech-recognition systems, and offering rich interactive simulations. Concurrently, it examines the obstacles that educators and institutions must navigate, such as aligning AI tools with pedagogical objectives, ensuring teacher training for effective implementation, and maintaining cultural and communicative authenticity. The study concludes that while AI tools are not a panacea, when thoughtfully integrated and ethically managed they can significantly contribute to language education—provided that human oversight remains central.
