Natalie Compton lives in St George's, the capital of Grenada. Grenada is an island in the Caribbean. It is one of a group of islands called the Windward Islands. The island is 34 km long and 19 km wide. It is green, with many picturesque hills and valleys. It is famous for its white, sandy beaches and coral reefs in the south of the island.

The climate is tropical. It is very warm all the year round but in the rainy season it rains every day. The wettest months are July, August and September.

The population of the country is about 100,000 (82% black). The most famous person from Grenada is Kirani James. He is a sprinter. He was the Olympic champion at the London 2012 Olympic Games. He won the gold medal in the Men's 400 meters. At the Rio 2016 Olympics, he won the silver medal and he was also the world champion in 2011.

Natalie lives with her parents, her two brothers and her grandmother. Her mother is a nurse at the General Hospital, which is situated just outside St George's. Her father is a taxi driver. Natalie's grandfather died last year. He worked on a nutmeg plantation. They live in a small house near the harbour but they are moving next year to a bigger house near the airport. Natalie's family are Roman Catholic, which is the main religion of the people of Grenada. They go to church every Sunday and Natalie's mother sings in the choir.
