The School Music Festival
Last Friday, our school organised a music festival called Great Sounds. Students from different classes worked together to prepare an unforgettable event. Our music teacher, Mrs Green, encouraged us to take part in the festival and express our feelings through music.
My best friend Emma and I decided to put together a small band. Emma plays the guitar, while I play the drums. At first, we couldn't agree on the type of music we wanted to perform. Emma was really into rock music, but I preferred pop because of its catchy tunes and lively rhythms.
Instead of arguing, we decided to talk through our differences and find common ground. Finally, we chose a pop-rock song that we both enjoyed.
Preparing for the festival wasn't easy. We had to practise every afternoon, organise our equipment and create a festive atmosphere. Our classmate Jack helped us set up the stage, while Sophie designed colourful posters.
On the day of the festival, I was extremely nervous. I was afraid of making mistakes in front of so many people. Emma tried to cheer me up and reminded me that we had worked hard.
When we started performing, the audience began to sing along. Our song was a great success! Although we didn't win first prize, we were pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback.
After the performance, Mrs Green pointed out that our teamwork was our greatest achievement. We realised that collaboration means listening to others, sharing responsibilities and supporting each other.
The festival taught us that music can bring people together and help them overcome challenges.
