This test is designed to assess students’ retention and practical use of the vocabulary and grammar from Unit 1: Family & Relationships.
It checks students’ knowledge of:
Vocabulary related to family members, life stages, and interpersonal relationships.
Phrasal verbs and collocations, such as get on with, fall out with, make up, settle down, and others presented in the unit.
Grammar points, including:
the use of infinitives (to + verb) and gerunds (-ing forms);
special structures with the bare infinitive (e.g., make me apologise, see him argue).
The tasks aim to evaluate students’ ability to recognise, understand, and apply these forms in context. Encourage students to read each question carefully and use the language they have learned throughout the unit.
This test can be used for formative or summative assessment. It provides insight into areas that may need further practice or revision.
