A. Hi! I'm Susan. I live in New York. Last weekend was wonderful. I went to the museum with my classmates and our teacher, Mrs Johnes. We visited Museum of Press. We saw first American and British newspapers and first printing machines. They were so huge! We saw photo cameras which journalists used 100 years ago. Do you know that The New York Times, which is a daily broadsheet, was founded in 1851? It has got long history. It's very popular now - 740,000 readers buy this newspaper every day and 8.6 million read its web-based version! 2000 people work for this newspaper around the world. Most of them work in the main office in New York, but some journalist come to different cities of the USA and to another countries for important events. The guide told us about popular daily broadsheet - The Daily Telegraph. It was founded in 1855 in London and now now 318,000 people buy it every day.
So, when my dad will read his newspapers, I will tell him about their history!
B. Hi! I'm Peter. Last weekend was wonderful. On Saturday I was busy with my homework, but Sunday was excellent. I went to the National Opera House with my parents. I'm not keen on classical music. I prefer jazz. But that concert was special. At first we saw the famous conductor, who told us about this event. It was a contest. My aunt took part in it and she played the violin. We listened to lots of musicians. "Moonlight Sonata" and "To Elise" by Beethoven was good. A young lady wearind long black dress performed them. But, as for me, "Storm" and "Four seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi, which were performed by my aunt, were great! She was wearing a nice blue dress and white shoes. We were so proud of her! In the end Aunt Kate was given and award and we all were happy!
