Starting Over at a New School

When 14‑year‑old Leo moved from a small town to a big city, everything felt different. His new school was much larger than his old one, and the classrooms were confusing at first. Leo worried because he didn’t know anybody and was afraid of speaking English in front of new classmates.

During the first weeks he spent most break times alone. However, his English teacher noticed that he liked drawing and invited him to help decorate the classroom notice board. While working together, Leo started talking more with other students. They asked about his drawings and soon began helping him with English words and homework.

After joining the art club, Leo finally began to feel part of the school community. He made friends who shared his interests and often met after lessons to create posters for school events. Leo says that changing schools was scary at first, but it taught him that trying something new can lead to amazing opportunities.
