Going Places. Animal Criminal

For our honeymoon, we went on an           [overboard, overland, overall, overseas] tour of the Western United States. One day we decided to go             [marching, adventuring, touring, trekking]in one of the national parks. It was recommended in the          [guide, holiday, map, planning]book as a great place for walking. The landscape around there is totally          [clean, calm, unspoilt, empty]and there is lots of wildlife to spot if you are lucky. We parked in an area of         [dense, shallow, solid, high] forest, overlooking a beautiful valley.

We            [made out, set off, picked up, went along]on the walk quite early in the morning and it was starting to get dark by the time we got back to the car. To our horror, we realised that somebody, or something, had broken into the        [loan, borrow, rent, hire]car. Our bags had been pulled out and ripped open, but our            [belongings, properties, contents, goods]were all over the car park. It was then that we saw the paw prints all over the car and realised who the thief must have been - a hungry bear!

The park           [policeman, attendant, ranger, officer]was very sympathetic and explained that it wasn't the first time that something like this      [did, had, was, have]happened. Unfortunately, our travel           [money, operator, insurance, agent]company weren't as understanding and said that, because the breaking wasn't commited by a human, they wouldn't pay. It ended up being a very expensive day!
