This Final Reading Control Test is designed for upper secondary learners at B2 level and aims to assess students’ reading comprehension skills at the end of Term I. The test contains two engaging and age-appropriate authentic-style texts, focusing on both global and detailed understanding.
Text 1: Fish & Chips
Students work with a structured informational text and complete a paragraph-matching task (choosing the most appropriate title for each paragraph). This task checks their ability to identify main ideas, text structure, and logical organization.Text 2: Why the Dutch Are So Good at English?
This text is accompanied by multiple-choice questions, assessing detailed comprehension, inference skills, and understanding of key facts and arguments.
The test is suitable for summative assessment, aligns well with B2 CEFR reading descriptors, and can be used for end-of-term evaluation, progress tracking, or formal control. Clear task formats make it easy to check and score, providing teachers with reliable evidence of students’ reading proficiency and exam readiness.
