To build basic English vocabulary (nouns and action verbs) while developing social-emotional skills by teaching young learners how to identify, express, and manage their feelings about winning, losing, and fair play.
Lesson Plan: Being a Good Sport with the Little Princess
Target Audience: Beginner English Learners / Young Children (Ages 5–8)
Duration: 45 Minutes
Materials Needed: The "I Don't Want to Lose!" video episode, printed worksheets, paper plates (or cardstock sheets), scissors, crayons, and brass fasteners (split pins).
Phase 1: Warm-Up & Vocabulary Introduction (10 Minutes)
Objective: Activate prior knowledge and introduce key words before viewing.
Teacher Action:
Hold up a game (like a deck of cards or a board game) and ask: "Do you like to play games?"
Write WIN 🏆 and LOSE 😢 on the board with simple emojis.

Phase 2: Video Screening & Comprehension Check (15 Minutes)
Objective: Contextualize the language through the animation.
Teacher Action:
Play The Little Princess - "I Don't Want to Lose!" episode (approx. 11 minutes).
Pause briefly halfway through if the Princess gets angry, asking: "Is she happy? Is she a good sport?"
Student Action: Watch the video attentively. Immediately afterward, complete
Part 2 (Match the Word) and Part 3 (True or False?) individually or in pairs.
Check for Understanding: Quickly review the answers as a class.
