It obviously must be stated that contemporary situation concerning pollution, especially from ships, is urgent in Ukraine and all over the world. The aim of this article is to define the main shipping-related threats to the marine environment, find out the legislative basis for safety navigation and give ways of improving existing situation with deplorable results in future.
