The study is devoted to the linguistic and social aspects of the use of English military terminology and the relevance of mastering it in modern life realities.
The purpose of the work is to find out the specifics of the formation and qualification of military vocabulary and terminology in English, to supplement knowledge in the field of English military terminology and to determine the features of vocabulary and phraseology on military topics in modern English, as well as to investigate the emergence of neologisms on military topics that arose as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The features of the formation of the English military dictionary are revealed, factors that influence the emergence of military vocabulary are identified and the specifics of the translation of military vocabulary are revealed.
Thematic groups of the military vocabulary under study are identified. The connections between commonly used vocabulary and military terminology are analyzed. The ways of integrating military vocabulary into various spheres of social life are determined. Types of new military lexical and phraseological units are established.
The ways and methods of creating military vocabulary are considered. A structural and semantic analysis of military lexical innovations is carried out.
