The subject of my work is: the comparative-historical method for analyzing three languages English, German and French, related roots in verbs of the three languages.
The object: to compare the three languages in order to determine their relationship to one another, whether they share a common mother language – the parent language, a single language from which several others evolve.
And actuality: Languages change over time. Eventually, they change so much that there is no similarity to the original. The comparative method can be used to reconstruct languages for which no written records exist, either because none were preserved or because the speakers were illiterate. Thus, the Germanic languages which include German, English and the extinct Gothic can be compared to reconstruct Proto-Germanic for which no records are preserved.
