II. Making a shopping list.
Imagine that you are going to the shop to buy some products. The shops are Butcher’s, Greengrocer’s, Dairy, Fishmonger’s, and Baker’s.
The group should divide into 5 teams. The winner is someone who buys as many different products as possible.
While-listening activities
I. Listen for lies
Now, you are going to divide into two teams A and B. One student from each team comes to the front of the class and reads aloud a passage I am going to give you. Then the student reads the text aloud again but makes some changes. Each time a lie (or change) is read out, the students must stand up. The first team to stand up gets a point. This game requires students to listen carefully and encourages them to remember important information and details.
( The student reads a passage from the text “ Traditional British Meals”.
