A warm up is an activity that can be developed at the beginning of the lesson to focus students on the topic and also to activate background knowledge present in the students.
A good warmer can put our students into English mode and help them to be interested and ready to participate. It is a great tool to review language from the previous lessons and prepare the class for a new topic.
I bring to your attention a set of awesome warm-up activities and ways to start a class I successfully use which don’t require any preparation. The main advantage of these activities is that most of them can be used as filler activities if you find yourself a few minutes short at the end of the lesson.
