Teddy’s birthday party
Lesson objectives:
to revise and practice vocabulary on the topic of the lesson;
to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading;
to revise structures “It is a…”, “Have you got a…/ Yes, I have/ No, I have not”
Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson students will be able to speak about birthday party using vocabulary on the topic of the lesson and structures “It is a…”, “Have you got a…/ Yes, I have/ No, I have not”; they’ll get good emotions and it’ll warm up their interest to learning English.

II Warm up
Teacher: Today is unusual lesson. I came to you with my friend. Look! Who is it?
Students: It’s a Teddy.
Teacher: Yes, you are right! Look at Teddy! He has a nice hat. It’s a birthday hat. Because today is his birthday. He has such hats for you. (teacher gives birthday hats to each student)
Welcome to the birthday party! (teacher sticks the flash card of birthday party on the board)
III Main part
Presentation of new vocabulary
Teacher: It’s a birthday party so Teddy has got a cake, a candle, a balloon, a star a present (teacher use real things).
Now open your book on page 68. Listen and point.
So when it’s birthday party we have a cake, a candle, a balloon, a star a present (teacher sticks the flash cards on the board)
Game “Who is faster?”
Teacher: Let’s play. We’ll make two groups: stars and balloons. (children take the picture and join one of the group). Now make two lines standing one by one. I’ll name the word and you’ll point it. The faster one will get a picture. The winner is the group who’ll have more pictures. (at the end of the game children count pictures and name them)
Game “Day and night”
Teacher: I have 6 hoops. Hoop is home. Each home has a name (a cake, a candle…). When it’s a day you can play. At night you should go home. (depending on a number of the students in the class teacher can limit the number of students in one hoop-home.
Let’s start! It’s a day. You can go, go, go. It’s a day. You can run, run, run. It’s a night! (students go inside the hoops. (The student who has no home will choose the hoop using the rhyme and the students from it should name their word and make a sentence with it. (for example, It is a… The cake is big/small. The star is yellow.)

IV Summing up
Teacher: It’s time to sing song for our Teddy. Listen and sing a traditional English song “Happy birthday to you”
(The students make a circle around Teddy and a sing song)
