The bottle band
I’m Mike and I’m in a band called Bottles. My band is unusual because we don’t play guitars or the drums – we play glass bottles! All you have to do is blow across the top of a bottle with water in it and it makes the most beautiful sound. There are six people in the band and we each play eight different bottles running performances. Each of these bottles makes a different sound. This is because the amount of water in each bottle changes the sound.
The first thing people always ask me is how I started bottle music. Actually, I learnt about it in a science lesson. I just loved it and, after that, I practice at home almost every day with friends. We performed on stage for the first time at a school talent show. Now we play just about everywhere in our neighbourhood.
