ANTARCTIC MISSION

A British expedition took place last month to look for life beneath the Antarctic snow and ice. The ¹______ of the expedition was to get a better understanding of our environment. The whole experiment cost £7 million, and involved pouring hot water through the ice, which is three kilometres thick, until they reached Lake Ellsworth below it.
