The machine beside the bed was making strange noises and red and green lights went on and off regularly. Itwas recording the patient's breathing, blood pressure and other important life signs. (1)... Sonia was eleven years old when it first happened. At school, the children were having vaccinations. They all queued up along the corridor outside the nurse's room. The nurse asked them to sit on two different chairs. (2).... .Then the needle went into Beth's arm. Beth saw Sonia watching and smiled. "Don't worry", she said. "It doesn`t hurt!"
