ANDROCLES AND THE LION
Many years ago lived a man His name was Androcles. He was a slave. One day, he ran away. He wanted to run far from the village where he lived and hide among high trees. His life was very hard, in fact it was impossible. He dreamt of being free. When he was running through the forest, suddenly he saw a big lion. Nobody else was not near him. Androcles was afraid but understood that the lion couldn't do him any harm. The lion was breathing hard. Androcles understood that something was wrong with the lion’s paw. The lion couldn't speak the people’s language, but he wanted to say: «Save me! Help me! »
Androcles looked at the lion's paw and discovered a large thorn in it. It was hidden deep in the paw. Androcles took the thorn away. The lion was happy. They became friends and the lion brought him food every day.
But one day the Emperor's people caught both Androcles and the lion.
They brought the friends to Rome and separated them. Androcles was waiting for a punishment when the Emperor commanded to bring him.Emperor's people didn't give any food to the lion. He became very hungry. Then they brought Androcles in order to eat. But the lion was a real friend. He didn't kill Androcles. He was happy to see his friend again.
The Emperor couldn't understand it and he ordered to bring Androcles. The man told the Emperor his story. The Emperor was very surprised with the story and gave food to the lion . At last, he let them both go away. Gratitude is the sign of a noble soul!.
