RICHARD BRANSON AND BUSINESS
Richard Branson is one of the most famous and successful British business people ever; he is the head of about 150 companies and he has almost three billion dollars. He is one of the richest people in the United Kingdom.
Richard Branson was born in 1950. He had a difficult time at school because he is dyslexic (he has problems with seeing letters correctly) but he has always been ambitious. When he was a teenager, he started a student newspaper - for manu schools, not just for his school. The newspaper, called Student, was a great success. While he was working on this, he noticed an interesting thing; all his friends and fellow students wanted to buy records, and they wanted to buy them cheap ones. Branson decided to start a company selling records by post. Because he didn't have a shop or workers, his business wasn't expensive and he could sell the records cheap. Virgin Records made a lot of money and Branson later started many other businesses, for example, an airline, a train company and a Cola company.
Richard Branson has always believed in treating people well. He writes a letter to all his workers every month and invites them to phone him with any problems or ideas. He is also a talented sportsman - he has sailed across the Atlantic faster than anyone else and he has tried several times to go around the world in a hot-air balloon, but he has never been successful in this.
Are these sentences true or false?
