Archimedes was a Greek scientist. While in the bath he discovered how to measure the volume of something which does not have a regular shape, such as the human body. When he made his discovery, he famously shouted ‘Eureka!’ He also studied buoyancy – how and why objects float in water. If we didn’t know about buoyancy, then we wouldn’t understand why boats float on the sea.
