Steve Jobs was a great innovator who helped to make computers available to everyone. Steven Paul Jobs was born in California on February 24, 1955. He had adopted parents and was raised in the state of Northern Carolina.

After graduation from high school, he attended college. After the first semester he decided to drop out of college and traveled to India. When Steve returned to the USA, he learned that his old friend, Steve Wozniak, had invented the Apple computer. In 1976 two friends started Apple Computer company working out of Job`s garage. Together they developed the Apple II personal computer that was very popular among companies and the public.

In 1981 the company called IBM started to take business away from Apple. Around that time Job`s team invented a new computer called Macintosh. Unlike the Apple II, this new computer was not as popular. Jobs decided to leave the company in 1985. In the year 2000 he became the leader of Apple again. His company released many important devices like the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad. In 2011 Apple was the richest company it the USA.
