Hey, everyone! I’m Tom Johnson. I’m 13, I live in New York and go to usual American school. I’m good at learning English and German - these are my favourite lessons. Also, I love music, especially playing the guitar. I have music lessons every Saturday.
I usually wear a school uniform - a shirt or sweater and trousers. In my free time, I like wearing loose-fitting jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t care if clothes are trendy or not - I prefer comfortable ones.
My best friends are David and Monika, my cousins. David is also 13 and Monika is 10. They live in Alberta, Canada. David likes Maths and French. Monika’s favourite lessons are English, French and Maths. There is no uniform in their school. So, David usually wears trousers and shirts, when Monika prefers skinny jeans or skirts and trendy blouses.
Last summer, our parents and we travelled around Spain. We planned to visit some big cities, so David and Monika’s mum decided to rent a car. On our first day in Barcelona, a police officer stopped the car. We were surprised, because aunt Elizabeth is a careful driver. But… the policeman told us that driving and wearing flip-flops is illegal in Spain! Our parents showed documents to prove that we are not Spanish and didn’t know this law! Aunt didn’t get a fine, but after this she wore only trainers. Then, while we were walking around the city centre uncle Peter bought some ice cream for us all - it was very hot. And another police officer came! Eating is illegal near the old buildings in the city centre! So, we quickly went to the park and ate ice-cream there.
Hope, our winter holidays will be not so surprising!
