Reading Text: A Day Without a Phone
Last Saturday, Emma decided to spend the whole day without her phone. At first, it felt strange because she usually checked her messages every few minutes. She didn’t know what to do while eating breakfast, so she just sat and looked out of the window.
Later, Emma went for a walk in the park. She noticed many things she had never paid attention to before: birds singing, children playing, and the sound of the wind in the trees. She even started a conversation with an elderly woman who was feeding pigeons.
In the afternoon, Emma visited her friend Lucy. They talked, laughed, and played board games. Normally, they would both spend time on their phones, but this time was different. They enjoyed each other’s company much more.
By the evening, Emma felt happier and more relaxed. She realized that her phone was useful, but it also took too much of her time. She decided to have “phone-free” days more often.
