A School in the Forest
In Sweden, there is a very special and unusual school. It is not like most schools where children sit in classrooms all day. This school is in the forest! Children at this school spend their days learning outside, surrounded by trees, plants, and animals. The school is called "The Forest School."
At The Forest School, students learn many different things. They learn about nature, such as the names of trees, flowers, and animals. They also learn important skills like building things with wood, cooking on a fire, and even how to find their way using a map. The teachers believe that children are happier and healthier when they spend time outside. The fresh air, sunshine, and exercise help them feel good and think clearly.
One of the interesting things about this school is that children do not use computers, smartphones, or tablets. Instead, they use their hands and tools to learn. Every day, they explore the forest, climb trees, and even help take care of plants and animals. They learn math by counting leaves, sticks, or measuring tree trunks. For science, they study how plants grow or watch birds fly.
The Forest School also teaches children how to work in teams. They often do group activities, such as building shelters or solving problems together. This helps them learn how to communicate and help each other. The children at this school are very creative because they use the forest as their classroom!
Even though it is different from a normal school, the children love it. They make many new friends and enjoy learning in nature. They say it is a fun and exciting way to go to school. Many parents are happy too, because their children come home smiling, dirty, and full of new knowledge!
