I had a wonderful day yesterday! It was my 14th birthday and my parents took me to the fantastic new American restaurant in our town. Do you know it? It’s next to the cinema. I had a burger and chips for my main course and I drank an amazing glass of lemonade that was made with fresh lemons! My mum had an omelette and a salad, and my dad had chicken legs. The restaurant is very popular. It was so busy! We had to wait to get our food, but that was OK. Everyone was very friendly and there was a band playing music!
The best part of the meal was dessert. I had chocolate cake. My mum had fruit salad and cream, but Dad didn’t have anything. At the end of the meal, the manager came over to our table. ‘Happy birthday, young man,’ he said. ‘Would you like your present now?’ Do you know what my present was? My meal! My parents didn’t have to pay for it! We were all very surprised. It was a brilliant evening.
