Tamburello

Tamburello is a sport from the north of Italy. It is a very old game. The first matches were played in the 16th century. People can play it indoors or outdoors.It is a team sport, and usually, there are three players on each team. Players hit a small tennis ball to the other team. But they don’t use bats or rackets — they use tambourines. Yes, the players hold tambourines in their hands! The word tamburello is Italian for tambourine. That’s where the sport gets its name.One team hits the ball over the line to the other team. Then, the other team tries to hit it back. If a player misses the ball or hits it too far, the other team gets a point. There are four points in each game, just like in tennis. When teams play a match, they usually play 13 games.
