A bad day by Ken Stevens
I woke up with a terrible headache and my throat was very sore. I wanted to stay in bed, but I needed to go to the dry cleaner’s to pick up my suit. I had an important meeting the next day. So, I got up, got dressed and had some breakfast. There is usually too much traffic in the morning, so I decided to walk. Opposite the dry cleaner’s, there’s a chemist’s, so I went in to get some painkillers first. I was still in the chemist’s when I heard people shouting from outside. I looked and saw that the dry cleaner’s was on fire! I quickly ran across the street and helped everyone get out. Unfortunately, on my way out, I hurt my head on the door and burnt my arm a little. The firefighters arrived soon after and put out the fire. An ambulance also cameand a paramedic looked at my head and arm. Luckily, it was nothing serious. I felt even luckier when I found out that the only item of clothing to survive the fire was my suit. So, I took it to another dry cleaner’s and wore it the next day to the meeting. The only problem was that my boss cancelled it!
