An Unforgettable Holiday in an Unusual Home
Last summer, my family and I decided to go on a road trip around Scotland. We wanted to explore new places and have an unforgettable experience. Instead of staying in an ordinary hotel, we booked a small wooden house in the countryside.
We set off early on Saturday morning. My dad picked up my grandparents, and we all travelled together. The journey took six hours, but we stopped over in a beautiful village to have lunch and look around.
When we arrived, we were surprised. Our holiday home was built in a tree! It had two bedrooms, a tiny kitchen and a cosy living room. There was also a balcony with a breathtaking view of the mountains.
The house was environmentally friendly. It used solar energy and collected rainwater. We had to be careful with electricity and water, but it wasn't difficult.
Every morning, I woke up to the sound of birds. After breakfast, we went hiking or explored nearby villages. One day, we came across an old castle that wasn't mentioned in our guidebook.
In the evenings, we played board games, cooked dinner together and talked about our adventures. I was responsible for tidying up the kitchen, while my brother had to put away our things.
On our last day, it started raining heavily. We couldn't go hiking, so we stayed inside and watched a film. Surprisingly, it was one of the best days of our holiday.
Looking back on our trip, I think staying in an unusual house made our adventure even more special. I would love to go back there one day.
