One Day in the Life of an Easter Basket. 6 class

Hello! My name is Benny, and I am an Easter basket. I have a big smile and a soft, round body. I have green grass inside me. It is not real grass. It is paper grass, soft and fun. I also have many colorful eggs, small toys, and some sweet chocolate. I love my life!

It is Easter morning. I wake up early. I am on a table in the kitchen. The sun is shining. Birds are singing outside. I feel very happy. Today is a special day.

I wait quietly. The house is still. Then, I hear small feet on the floor. It is Emma. She is five years old. Her eyes are big. She sees me and smiles.

"Look, Mama! The Easter Bunny came!" she says.

Emma runs to me. She looks at the eggs. She picks up a pink one. She opens it. Inside, there is a small toy. It is a yellow duck. Emma is very happy.

Then, she sees a big chocolate bunny. "Yum!" she says. She takes a little bite. Her mouth is full of chocolate.

"Thank you, Easter Bunny!" she says.

More people come into the kitchen. Emma’s mom, dad, and baby brother come too. They all look at me. They smile. I feel important. I like to make people happy.

Emma shows her family all the things in the basket. She finds jelly beans, lollipops, and stickers. She gives a green jelly bean to her baby brother. He giggles.

Later, they go outside to play. Emma puts me on the grass. The sun is warm. I watch her run and laugh. She plays with the toys from the basket. The yellow duck is her favorite.

Suddenly, a dog comes! It is a big brown dog. He sees me. He smells the chocolate. He comes close. Oh no! He wants to eat the chocolate bunny!

"Stop, Max!" Emma shouts.

She runs fast. She takes me in her arms. She saves the chocolate bunny. I am safe. Thank you, Emma!

In the afternoon, Emma and her family go to Grandma’s house. I go too. I sit on the car seat next to Emma. She holds me tight. I feel special.

At Grandma’s house, there are more Easter baskets. But I am Emma’s favorite. She shows me to her cousins. They play together. They share the eggs and candy.

In the evening, we go home. Emma is tired. She puts me on her bed. She looks at me and smiles.

"Good night, Benny," she says.

She hugs her yellow duck and falls asleep. I feel happy and proud. I had a good day. I made a little girl smile. That is the best thing for an Easter basket.
