One morning, I woke up in a strange place. The sun was bright and yellow. The sky was blue with no clouds. I rubbed my eyes and looked around. Where was I? This was not my bedroom!
I stood up slowly. The ground under my feet was soft and green. It was not grass, but it looked like grass. It was actually made of something sweet. I touched it and smelled my fingers. It was sugar! The ground was made of green sugar!
I started to walk. In front of me, there was a small river. But it was not water in the river. It was chocolate! Brown, sweet chocolate was flowing slowly. Near the river, there were many flowers. They were not normal flowers. They were lollipops! Red, blue, green, yellow lollipops grew from the sugar ground like real flowers.
"Hello there!" I heard a voice. I turned around quickly. A big white rabbit was standing behind me. He was wearing a blue jacket and had a small basket in his paws.
"Who are you?" I asked with surprise.
"I am Peter, the Easter Rabbit. Welcome to Easter Land!" The rabbit smiled at me. "We don't often get visitors here. How did you get here?"
"I don't know," I said honestly. "I just woke up here. What is Easter Land?"
"This is where we prepare for Easter every year," Peter explained. "All Easter Rabbits live here. We make chocolate eggs, paint them, and then on Easter Sunday, we take them to children all over the world."
"Can I see how you make the eggs?" I asked with excitement.
"Of course! Follow me," Peter said and hopped away. I followed him down a small path made of colorful jelly beans.
We soon arrived at a village. There were many small houses made of cookies and cakes. The roofs were made of chocolate, and the windows were made of clear sugar. Many rabbits were working outside their houses. Some were carrying baskets full of eggs. Others were mixing colors in big pots.
"This is Egg Village," Peter told me. "Here, we make all the Easter eggs."
We walked to a big building in the center of the village. It looked like a factory. Inside, hundreds of rabbits were working. Some were making chocolate eggs in different sizes. Others were decorating eggs with beautiful patterns and colors.
"Can I try to make an egg?" I asked.
"Yes, you can," Peter nodded and led me to a table. He gave me a white egg and some paints. "Make it beautiful!"
I painted the egg blue and added yellow stars and green lines. It was not perfect, but I liked it.
"Not bad for your first Easter egg," Peter said with a smile. "Now, let's go to the Basket Forest."
We left the factory and walked through the village. After about ten minutes, we reached a forest. But it was not a normal forest with trees. Instead of trees, there were giant baskets growing from the ground! The baskets were in different colors and sizes.
"These are Easter baskets," Peter explained. "They grow here all year round. When Easter is close, we pick them and fill them with eggs."
"Can I pick one?" I asked.
"Sure," Peter nodded. I chose a medium-sized purple basket. It was perfect!
Next, Peter took me to a field full of small houses. "This is where we Easter Rabbits live," he said. "Would you like to meet my family?"
"Yes, please!" I said happily.
We entered a cozy house made of gingerbread. Inside, there was a family of rabbits. Peter introduced me to his wife, Mrs. Rabbit, and their five children. They were all very friendly and offered me carrot cake and hot chocolate.
After the delicious meal, Peter showed me around their house. They had a workshop where they made special eggs for important people. Peter was working on an egg for the Queen!
"It's time for the Easter Parade now," Peter said, looking at his watch. "You must see it!"
We went back to the main square of the village. Many rabbits were gathering there. They were all dressed in colorful clothes and had baskets full of eggs. Music started to play, and the rabbits began to dance and hop around the square. It was a beautiful sight!
"The Easter Parade happens every day before Easter," Peter explained. "It brings good luck for our journey to deliver eggs."
After the parade, Peter took me to a hill. From there, I could see the whole Easter Land. It was amazing! Fields of sugar, rivers of chocolate, forests of candy canes, and mountains of ice cream!
"Easter Land is magical," I said. "But how will I get home?"
"Don't worry," Peter said. "When you fall asleep here, you will wake up in your own bed."
"But I'm not sleepy," I said. However, as soon as I said that, I started to feel very tired. My eyes were closing.
"Thank you for visiting us," Peter said, his voice sounding far away. "Here, take this egg as a memento."
He put a small golden egg in my hand. I tried to thank him, but I was too sleepy. I closed my eyes.
When I opened them again, I was in my bed at home. Was it all a dream? I wasn't sure until I saw something shiny on my bedside table. It was the golden egg from Peter!
Every Easter now, I look at the golden egg and remember my amazing trip to Easter Land. Sometimes, I think I can hear Peter's voice saying, "Happy Easter!" And I always reply, "Happy Easter to you too, Peter, and all the rabbits in Easter Land!"
