I’m not really a keen traveller, but I do like visiting new places, although I admit that might not sound logical. I try to visit a new country every year, but I must say I find the journeys boring until I’m actually there, and I feel very impatient until I arrive. Then I really start enjoying myself. I’m very happy walking around looking at new things, so I suppose I’m more like a tourist than a traveller.
Audrey isn’t really very _________ on travelling.

My best experience of travelling was when I got hired to deliver a car from one side of the USA to the other. I had five or six days to make the trip, and the car was a beauty, too. I spent all day driving through the most amazing landscapes. Some people think it’s boring to sit behind a wheel all day, but not for me. You’re on your own, you can go wherever you like, you can play the radio or just look out of the window as the scenery speeds by.
Colin doesn’t think it’s ________ to drive all day.

Peter
I combine the idea of travelling and exercise, and I stay very fit during my holidays. Last year, I went from Ireland all the way to Poland and back again, and I didn’t use a car or a train or a plane – just a couple of boats, really, and the rest was all under my own steam. I don’t want to rely on anything or anyone else to get where I’m going.
Peter completed the journey under his _________.

Donald
It doesn’t matter where you’re going – you could be going to work or you might be travelling across the whole country, but trains are relaxing, spacious and comfortable and not too slow, not too fast. I like to see where I’m going and I like the opportunity to get off if I like a place, and get back on another train later. I’m not interested in arriving somewhere, really, because I enjoy the journey more.
Donald even enjoys trains if he’s going __________ and not on holiday.

Alice
I first went skiing three years ago when my parents taught me, and I’ve been a keen skier ever since. I like the snow, and I’ve also tried snowboarding and tobogganing. It’s the feeling of freedom and excitement I feel when I’m moving down the hill really fast. I don’t care if it’s not the safest thing to do! This year I’m entering a cross-country skiing contest, where you ski all day through the countryside.
Alice will be in a __________ skiing race.
