Kate and Bill study at typical British school. They are 13 years old and now study at the Secondary school.
Students study five days a week – from Monday to Friday. At the weekends they sometimes have school trips to the museums, art galleries or farms. Lessons start at 9 am every day and finish at 4 pm. Some children get to school by bus but Kate and Bill walk – they live near their school. Usually students have a break for lunch from 1 pm till 2 pm. Usually they eat lunch at their canteen and play at the sportground. After 4 pm children can do home or to the School Clubs. Bill attends Football Club and Karate Club, Kate joined the Science Club and Art Club this year.
Children at Great Britain go to school at 5 years old. From 5 to 11 they study at Primary school. At the age of 11 students go to Secondary school and study there to the age of 16. They study at lot of subjects – English, Maths, Geography, Biology, History, Literature, Science, Art, PE and others. At the age of 16 students have to pass the national exam GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education).
Bill doesn’t know what to do next after GSCE: stay at school or go to college. He has some time to think of it. Kate wants to stay at school after GSCE for two more years and take exams A-Level at the age of 18. Then she is going to enter the university.
