I write to friends in many different countries. It's really interesting to learn about their lives and their cultures and, of course, to go and visit them! I started writing to my English friend, Tina, when I was thirteen. Tina's into sports and music – just like me. We both enjoy swimming but she's fast and I'm not! Also, she listens to a lot of rock music but I hate it. It's very loud! I stayed with Tina's family last summer in their house in Manchester. They were very kind and they showed me lots of different places in England. I quite liked the cities of Liverpool and Birmingham. But we were in London for three days and that's definitely my favourite city! Of course it's a big and busy city with lots of great shops but it's also got some beautiful parks where you can walk and sit in the sun. I enjoyed walking by the River Thames and looking at the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the famous clock.
The weather wasn't very good when I was England and it rained a lot. But when we were in London it was warm and sunny. It was a fantastic day. I hope Tina can come to France to stay with me this year!
