Task 1. Read the text and decide if the sentences are True or False.
Exploring the English-Speaking World
The English-speaking world is full of amazing places. From the rugged coastline of Scotland to the modern streets of Belfast, every country has something special.
In the UK, London is famous for its red double-decker buses and the London Eye, a giant Ferris wheel. If you travel north to Scotland, you can visit Edinburgh and Glasgow. In Edinburgh, you can see beautiful old buildings that form a unique architecture complex. Did you know that Scotland is the home of the Scots and is famous for its green golf courses? After a long walk, people there often enjoy high tea with snacks.
The capitals can sometimes confuse students. For example, the capital of Australia is Canberra, not Sydney! In the USA, the President lives in a famous residence called the White House in Washington, DC. In Canada, Ottawa is the main city where people work in government buildings.
Every country has a special memorial to remember its history. Whether you are on the coastline of Ireland or in a busy workplace in New Zealand, English helps people from all these places talk to each other.
