The difference between then and now is modern technology. Modern technologies have changed our lives and 1) _ . They have also given us new challenges to solve. Computers have become a part of our society. In modern countries life is no longer conceivable without having a computer at home that is 2)_. There are commercials shown on foreign TV channels that this or that bank or company offers to order food or some necessary stuff just from your computer, straight from your home. Without a doubt that is comfortable. As follows, you no longer have to go through various car salons to inspect various cars in case you want to buy one. All you have to do is connect to the Internet, find 3) _ of a certain car company, and you are allowed to get to know all the details of the car, take the view of the inner and outer surface, to know how it’d look like if you changed the colours. There are many advantages for students 4) _ . Students can share their work with others around the world, providing them access to various cultures and perspectives that they would not encounter in everyday experiences. Networks support a teaching model that provides students the opportunity to learn by solving problems. This helps the students in their search for knowledge and solutions. Information is available 5) _ that can provide students access to materials such as scientific journals and up-to-date research data that can take years for textbooks to offer. With computer experience being a requirement for nearly all jobs, a lack of exposure to technology can place students at a grave disadvantage. So using a computer and other up-todate technologies makes sure that students won’t have any problems working with newest facility solutions in their future. As they use the computer and the Internet, students will become more familiar and comfortable 6) _ , helping to prepare them for their future in industry.

How has New Technology Changed Your Life?

Speaker 1 Yes, the new technology brought many changes to my life. Especially the Internet an mobile phones. I use my mobile phone as a phone, camera, voice recorder, dairy, alarm clock, watch... However, for me technology is just a tool — I refuse to let it rule my life!

Speaker 2 Technology certainly changed my life for better and worse. In case of an accident, I can contact somebody with my mobile immediately. My computer makes it simple to keep lots of my documents. The Internet and e-mail made it easier for me to get information and news, to contact with my friends who live around the world. But technology sometimes tires me because I always have to be careful about computer viruses. And it sometimes deprives me of an opportunity to meet my friends personally.

Speaker 3 Technology made it possible to find out what is really going on, rather than relying the official media to feed me only what it wants me to be fed.

Speaker 4 The most powerful impact technology had on my life was through the new video game systems. I own an Xbox’s game system, now through my high speed Internet connection I can play any game such as NBA 2k4 with anyone in the world who owns an Xbox. That’s pretty cool!

Speaker 5 I am scared of the fast way technology is developing. It is just a matter of time when some clever boy will find a way to break into very dangerous areas. I am also scared that there is no privacy anymore when using communication technology, the big brothers are watching every move, words you say or hear, you can run but you cannot hide.
