CITY OR COUNTRY
Cindy, the USA

When I was a little girl, I lived in a small village in Texas. We lived on a large farm with lots of animals. It was very relaxing. You could hear the birds singing in the morning.
It was great during the week because I was with my friends at school and we had a lot of afterschool activities. But there wasn’t much to do during the weekend when I was at home. My school friends and I could not meet because there were no buses in the village. So, I had to watch TV but it was so boring for me.
Now that I’m older my parents moved to New York City. It’s easier now to be with my friends because I can take the bus or the underground to everywhere I want to go. My favourite place to go is the shopping centre.
I always hang out with my friends there.
Peter, Germany

I live in a big city in Germany and it’s quite exciting! There are lots of things to do. My parent bought a flat near the park where I can ride my bike or skateboarding. My brother is elder than me so I also go to the cinema with him. Our city library is a wonderful place too. I usually meet my friend there and we do our school projects or study together doing homework.
Of course living in a big city is not easy. City life can be fast and stressful. The streets are always crowded and noisy. Because of the cars the air is polluted sometimes. People are so busy that they seldom have time for their friends. But I can’t see myself moving to the country. I like to live in the city very much.
