Emily: That’s exciting! What does your dad do?
Emily: Hi! You must be the new student. Welcome to our class.
Liam: He’s an engineer. He’s working on a big construction project in the city.
Emily: I like English and art. We have a great art teacher here, Mr. Jones. He’s really creative.
Liam: That sounds fun! Oh, by the way, do you know where the science lab is? I have a class there after lunch, but I got lost this morning.
Emily: Cool! Have you had a chance to explore the city yet?
Liam: Hi! Yes, I am. My name is Liam. Nice to meet you.
Liam: I’m from Manchester. My family moved here last week because my dad got a new job.
Liam: Thanks, Emily.
Emily: Nice to meet you too, Liam. I’m Emily. So, where are you from?
Liam: A little bit. We visited the town square and a few parks, but I’m still getting used to everything. It’s so different from Manchester.
Liam: I really enjoy science and history. I think they’re fascinating. What about you?
Emily: Don’t worry, I’ll show you. It’s on the second floor, near the library.
Emily: I can imagine. Don’t worry, you’ll feel at home in no time. What subjects do you like?

My Autobiography
My name is Anna Taylor, and I was born on April 15th, 2008, in Brighton, England. I am 16 years old, and I live with my parents, my younger brother Jack, and our dog, Max. My family is very important to me, and we love spending time together, especially during weekends. We often go for long walks on the beach or have movie nights at home.
When I was a child, I loved drawing and painting. I used to spend hours creating colourful pictures of nature, animals, and even imaginary characters. My parents always encouraged me to be creative, and they kept many of my early drawings. Now, art is still my favourite subject at school, and I recently won a school competition for my painting of the Brighton Pier. I dream of becoming a graphic designer or an illustrator in the future.
I attend Brighton Secondary School, where I’m in Year 11. I enjoy most of my classes, especially English and art. I find English fascinating because I can express my thoughts and ideas creatively through writing. I also like sports and play for the school’s volleyball team. Last year, we won the regional championship, which was one of my proudest moments. Playing on a team has taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and staying positive even when things get tough.
Outside of school, I have many hobbies. I enjoy reading books, especially mysteries and fantasy novels. My favourite author is J.K. Rowling because her stories are so imaginative and inspiring. I also love listening to music. My favourite band is Coldplay, and I know the lyrics to most of their songs. I even tried learning the piano to play “Fix You,” but I still need more practice.
Travelling is another thing I am passionate about. One of the most exciting experiences in my life was travelling to Italy with my family last summer. We visited Rome, Florence, and Venice. I loved learning about the history, especially visiting the Colosseum and the Vatican. The food was amazing too—I tried different types of pizza and gelato every day. I also enjoyed taking photos of the beautiful architecture and landscapes.
In the future, I hope to travel more and visit countries like Japan, Australia, and Canada. I am especially interested in Japanese culture, and I’ve started learning a few Japanese words. I also plan to go to university and study art and design. My dream is to work for a big company creating designs for movies, books, or video games. Eventually, I hope to start my own business and share my creativity with the world.
I believe that hard work, kindness, and optimism are the keys to success. I always try to do my best, help others whenever I can, and stay positive even when life gets challenging. This is who I am, and I look forward to discovering more about myself and the world around me in the years to come.
