Christmas is traditionally the time of giving. Apart from looking for perfect gifts for friends and family members, a lot of people also think about those who are
fortunate. At this time of the year, most charities encourage us to donate some money so that they can help the homeless or the elderly.
One of the most interesting campaigns in the UK is the Christmas Jumper Day,
usually takes place on the second Friday of December. The idea is that
people should wear a special Christmas jumper on this day and donate at least £1 to Save the Children, the charity organising
event. Every year the donations
used to help children in 120 countries by providing them
with health care and the food they need to be healthy.
Why do people support this campaign?
my view, they do so because it’s a fun and easy way of
a good deed! Almost everyone in the UK has got a Christmas jumper. Many people don’t buy them – they are a popular Christmas
present.
