This is Lionel Messi. He's one of the best football players in the world. He scores a goal nearly every game.
Lionel Messi always wanted to be a football player. He was born in Argentina in 1987 and he played for his first team in 1992 when he was five years old.
By eleven he was very good at football but there was a problem. He was short and he wasn't growing taller. He needed medicine to grow but it was expensive. When he was thirteen, his family moved to Spain and the Barcelona football club paid for his medicine.
Today he plays for FC Barcelona and for Argentina. He's a brilliant goal scorer and one of the best football players in the world.
This is Michael Phelps. He's one of the best swimmers in history. He holds the world record for 109 metres butterfly. It's 49,82 seconds.
Michael Phelps is an amazing American swimmer. When he was fifteen, he completed in the 2000 Olympics. The next year he broke a world record. He's got fourteen Olympic gold. medals - more than anybody in the world. He wants to win more medals so he works very hard. Every day he swims for about five hours. He's tall with a long body and big feet and he needs to eat a lot. He eats a very big breakfast. He eats eight eggs, cheese, toast, pancakes and cereal for breakfast. He likes eating lots of pasta and sandwiches for lunch. For dinner he has another enormous meal. He eats the same as five men every day.
He loves his sport and he's happy when he's swimming. Some people think he's the best swimmer in history.
This is Tanning Grey-Thompson. Tanning Grey-Thompson can't walk but she's an amazing sportswoman. She was born in Wales in 1969 and first used a wheelchair when she was seven years old. She was good at sports and she enjoyed swimming and horse riding. She started wheelchair racing when she was thirteen and six years later she competed in the 1988 Seoul Games. She's got eleven gold medals, which she won in five Paralympic Games, the Olympic Games for people who can't walk or see well. She broke the world records for 100 metres, 400 metres and 800 metres wheelchair racing. She also won the London Wheelchair Marathon six times.
