Uzhhorod is a city in Western Ukraine, the administrative centre of the Transcarpathian region. It is first mentioned in old manuscripts in the year of 1154.
Throughout its more than one-thousand-year history Uzhhorod has repeatedly changed rulers and governments. The almost six-hundred-year presence of Hungarians left a noticeable mark on the architectural appearance of the city.
