Fancy attending a music concert... underwater? Be like Nemo and take part in the Underwater Music Festival

This aquatic festival takes place every July in the Florida Keys! Music is performed by super scuba divers with ‘fishy’ names like, ‘MARLIN' Monroe, ‘EEL'ton John and 'CHER’ub Fish. The underwater instruments featured are the manta-lin, the drumfish, the sea-phan flute and the trumpet-fish!

This event was introduced 23 years ago. The main goal of the Underwater Music Festival is to help preserve the coral reef ecosystem in the Florida Keys. The lyrics of these fishy tunes also include tips on how people can enjoy the ocean without harming the coral reef and sea life in general. Song titles such as 'Yellow Submarine' and 'Octopus Garden’ by the Beatles, ’Fins' by Jimmy Buffet and even an actual humpback whale song are all played at the festival.
