The First Mobile Phone
On June 10, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, the first mobile phone was used with a handset closely resembling that of a regular telephone. People have cell phones for a variety of reasons. Most adults enjoy the ability to call in cases of emergency, to listen to music, and to navigate while driving. Interestingly, President Obama is only allowed to use a Blackberry since iPhones are more easily hacked into. Children mainly use their phones to contact their friends, averaging over 2000 texts a month. Social media is easily connected to via their phones and many games are free to download.
