The smallest computer in the world
Computers are smaller and smaller every day. The smallest computer in the world is like a grain of rice. It is only 2 mm long. It’s called a micro-computer.

Because they are useful for doing many different things. Doctors can put one inside a person’s body and it can tell them the temperature of part of the body or it can take photos so they can see what is happening inside the body.
These micro-computers can also help us find things. Imagine you can’t find your door key or your smartphone. You can put a micro-computer on your key or smartphone and the computer can tell you where your key is. Amazing!

What is the problem with these computers?

They use electricity made from light so they only need a very small battery and they are very cheap. They aren’t heavy so you can put them anywhere you want, in clothes, in water or even on an animal.

Why do people want very small computers?

They don’t have a screen or a printer, so when you want to look at pictures or print information, you connect them to a different machine. You can’t watch films or use them for your homework either!

I bought some trousers online last week. Under the photo on the website, it said they were made of leather. I haven’t got a credit card so I used Dad’s. They were expensive but he said that was OK. They arrived two days later but when I saw them, I felt quite angry. They were made of something different and they were too short so I’m sending them back.
Maria
Last week I found an amazing cotton skirt on one website sale and a sweater in the same colour on another. Mum gave me the money! I had to wait nearly a week before they arrived. But nothing else was wrong and I wear them all the time. Not today! They need washing! I love them because they’re different from most clothes you find.
Vashti
I don’t usually buy clothes online but I really wanted a leather jacket and couldn’t find one I liked in my size in the shops. My aunt saw one online and bought it for me. It arrived the next day and it goes really well with most of my other clothes. I’ve got it on at the moment!
