Read the texts. Write Ava or Luiz.

Ava: Hi, Luiz.

Luiz: Hi, Ava. Good to talk to you again. How are you?

Ava: I'm fine, thanks! And you?

Luiz: I'm OK. But I’m tired after school.

Ava: Me too!

Luiz: What time do you go to school in the morning?

Ava: Most days I catch the bus at 8.30 with my sister. School starts at 9.00. How about you? What time do you go?

Luiz: Oh, it's very early in Brazil! Lessons start at 7 am!

Ava: 7 am!

Luiz: Yes, Monday to Friday. But I like the mornings.

Ava: Do you catch the bus to school?

Luiz: No, I don’t. I walk to school with my brothers. What about lunch, Ava? Do you have lunch at school?

Ava: Yes, I do. What about you?

Luiz: I never have lunch at school! I have lunch at home with my family. What do you do in the afternoons?

Ava: I stay at school. I've got more lessons!

Luiz: Really? We don’t have lessons in the afternoon!

Ava: Wow! I like that. We always have lessons in the afternoon in Canada. The school day finishes at 3.30. After that, I often meet my friends in a café. What subjects do you like, Luiz?

Luiz: Urn ... I think my favourite subjects are English and PE. What are yours?

Ava: History is my favourite. I'm good at it. We have it on Mondays and Wednesday afternoons. I think history is a very interesting subject. I like science too. We have that on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Luiz: We have science on Tuesdays and Fridays. I don't like science very much. But I like school. I’ve got lots of friends and my teachers are good.

What we have for breakfast

Laura is 12 years old and is from Cambridge. She tells us about breakfast in her family.

Some people don’t have breakfast, but my mum and dad say a healthy breakfast is good for us - we feel well.

My family has breakfast at seven o’clock every morning. I eat some fruit and some bread. I drink some water too. I don't eat biscuits. I like them but my mum says they're not good for me.

Raquel and Paula are my sisters. Raquel likes milk and drinks lots of it. She has bread and butter for breakfast and lots of fruit. Paula doesn't like bread. She has fruit and some water.

My brother's name is Will. Will eats eggs and bread and butter for breakfast. He has orange juice too. Will likes fruit, but he doesn't like it at breakfast. He eats fruit at lunch.

Mum has fruit, yoghurt, and milk for breakfast. Dad has some bread and butter. He has some cheese too. He doesn't drink milk. He doesn't like it. He drinks water.

Dad

Dad doesn't like the mornings. He says, 'Can't I stay in bed?' Dad works from home. He's tired in the mornings. He gets up at 7 am and has breakfast with us. In the evening, Dad makes dinner. I help him. We eat dinner at 6 pm. Dad works in the everning and goes to bed at 10 pm.
