Read what two speakers said about their diet. Choose the correct verbs 1-8 to complete the collocations.
S1: I'm interested in having a natural diet, and so for the last two years. I've only
[used, eaten, cooked] raw food. I believe that when you
[buy, cook, eat]
fresh food, you lose the goodness and vitamins in the food. I eat raw vegetables [...], but of course I also need protein. [...] So [...] I eat raw eggs. [...] I feel healthy and I
[need, feel, have] lots of energy, but [...] it's difficult to
[eat, stay, live] with the rest of my family, [and that's a problem].
S4: I'm a vegan. [...] That means that I don't eat or
[make, like, use] any animal products for any purpose. I don't eat meat, fish, dairy or anything that comes from animals. I don't
[sell, wear, make] clothes made from animals either. [...] When
I was a child, I ate meat and drank milk like most people. But then when I was 13, I started thinking about where my food came from. I learnt about how animals suffer and I was shocked. I decided to
[cook, eat, become] a vegan. I
[kill, eat, respect] animals and I don't want them to suffer.

Eat well, perform well - today Emma Peel tells us about the relationship between diet and study Are your exams coming up soon? Are you studying hard and feeling stressed? In order to do your best, you need to think carefully about what you eat. A healthy diet means a b d diet, so living off mostly light snacks or c d snacks like sandwiches is not recommended. To stay energised, try to eat plenty of o c food if possible and avoid too much processed or fast food. You don’t need to change to a v n diet but it might be a good idea to reduce the amount of meat you eat. Avoid h y meals in the evenings, especially if you are going to sit at your desk and study until late. If you get hungry while revising, choose a h y snack such as fruit, low-fat yoghurt or some nuts rather than crisps or sweets. Eat f g food such as chocolate, chips, pizzas and burgers only occasionally, perhaps as a reward for a hard-working week rather than as part of your daily diet. And remember, just because you don’t have time to prepare and enjoy a full t - e meal does not mean you can’t eat well.
