Інститут соціології Національної академії наук України є провідною соціологічною науковою установою країни. Здійснює дослідження закономірностей та основних тенденцій соціального розвитку українського суспільства, форм і наслідків соціальних змін, які відбуваються в Україні. З 1992 року Інститут соціології проводить комплексне дослідження «Українське суспільство: моніторинг соціальних змін». В Інституті сформовано банк соціологічної інформації про Україну часів незалежності, який відповідає міжнародним стандартам.
Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the country’s leading academic institution in the field of social research. The Institute’s research efforts are concentrated on identifying the main developmental trends and patterns which distinguish present-day Ukrainian society, as well as on tracking changes occurring in key areas of social life. Since 1992, the Institute’s research team has been carrying out a comprehensive nationwide study titled “Ukrainian society: Monitoring social changes”. The study is conducted on a yearly basis, and the obtained data give an objective and exhaustive picture of this society at a particular moment.
