The Rocky Mountains
1) The Rocky Mountains are 76 million years old and their highest peak is Mount Elbert in Colorado.
2) Mount Elbert is 4401 meters high.
3) There are some exciting land marks in the Rockies and one of these is the Columbia Icefield, which feeds 8 major glaciers in Jasper National Park, Canada.
Niagara Falls
1) The Maid of the Mist made it first voyage in 1846, and it is the oldest tourist attraction in North America.
2) Roughly 30 million people visit Niagara Falls every year.
3) The Niagara Falls State Park, established in 1885, is the oldest state park in the country.
Drumheller Dinosaur Park
1) The Royal Tyrrell Museum is named in honour of Joseph Tyrrell, a geologist who discovered the first dinosaur in the Red Deer Valley in 1884.
2) The museum was opened in September 25, 1985.
3) In 2010, the museum welcomed its 10-millionth visitor, a young boy from Edmonton.
The CN Tower
1) In 2016, the CN Tower celebrated its 40th birthday.
2) 1537 workers toiled five days a week, 24 hours a day to build the CN Tower.
3) In 1995, the CN Tower was designated a Wonder of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Kitchener Oktoberfest
1) The first Oktoberfest was held in 1810.
2) Since 1950, the festivities only begin when, at noon, 12 guns sound a salute.
3) Since 1969, the local Bavarian festival has become a massive hit for area residents and tourists alike, drawing between 750000 and 1 000000 visitors per year.
The Calgary Stampede
1) During Stampede, more than 200000 pancakes are free.
2) The first Stampede Queen was crowned in 1946.
3) More than 7500 animals take part in the Calgary Stampede’s rodeo, exhibitions and educational programs.
West Edmonton Mall
1) The West Edmonton Mall was opened on September 15, 1981.
2) The size of the West Edmonton Mall is equivalent to 48 city blocks.
3) It has over 800 different stores and services.
